I signed up for the survey, but instead got a free sample of western fiction.
I’ll go ahead and give you my opinions, anyway.
I think there is an audience out there for western fiction. Good stories never go out of style. There is a lot of good material available in the public domain that could also be included in a western magazine.

There is a real need for western fiction. There a several magqazines that feature non-fiction. A new magazine could have it all some true some action some paranormal and so have a vararity of readers. A recent survay indicated that the american cowboy was as much a symbol of America as the Stature of Liberty.There is stillso much to be told.

I am both a writer and reader of western fiction, and I think a western fiction print magazine would be wonderful. I would not be interested in either contributing to or reading an “electronic magazine.” Fiction is something people read for entertainment, to relax, and to keep themselves amused in the waiting room at the dentist office. When I want to relax with a story, I don’t want to have to sit in front of a computer, put batteries into my “magazine” or “book,” or find the closest plug-in at the coffee shop. I simply want to pull that magazine out of my purse and read. Most of us read fiction to escape from reality for a few minutes. Western fiction offers us not only the opportunity to escape reality, but to slip back into a simpler time and enjoy the life of a cowboy, a ranch owner, a wagon master, etc. It’s just a little bit difficult to get into that place when we have to plug our magazine in to the nearest outlet.
